National EMS Awards Program

EMS World and the National Association of EMTs (NAEMT) have established the National EMS Awards of Excellence program to recognize outstanding achievement in the EMS profession. Other organizations participating include the National Association of EMS Educators (NAEMSE) and the National EMS Management Association (NEMSMA).

As part of this program, EMS World Magazine presents two awards:

• Dick Ferneau Paid EMS Service of the Year sponsored by Ferno, which recognizes outstanding performance by a paid EMS service.
• Impact Volunteer EMS Service of the Year sponsored by Impact Instrumentation Inc., which recognizes outstanding performance by a volunteer EMS service.

The Award honors both a paid and a volunteer service each year for dedication, teamwork and commitment to EMS. Award recipients receive $1,000, three EMS World Expo core program registrations, plus $1000 for travel and lodging at the EMS World Expo/NAEMT Annual Meeting in New Orleans, LA, October 31-November 2, 2012 where the award will be presented at the NEMSMA Membership Meeting and the Opening Keynote Ceremony at EMS World EXPO on October 31 at 9:45 a.m. Award recipients will also be profiled in the November issue of EMS World Magazine.
